The Golden Light on the Mountains

The Golden Light on the Mountains

The internet connection here is slow and somewhat recalcitrant, so I don’t know how many updates there will be over the next two or so weeks … but the updates that I have/will make, man, they’re going to be pretty ones (IMHO). For, you see, on the train journey down south I finally started to make a concerted effort at tackling the photos I took on Lanzarote during my *last* Christmas break – and it turns out, there are some pretty shots among them.

My grandfather, when asked why he was reading yesterday’s newspaper, when that contained “old news,” apparently used to reply that they were news that were new to him and thus still “news news” … and I hope you’ll treat these photos in the same style. They might be a year old, and yet, they’ve not been seen before, so … .

  1. oooh – lovely!
I can relate to reevaluating old news/new news as I have been working on some old songs I wrote 20 years ago – sometimes tweaking things, adding or changing a line, adding a bridge. Perspective brings a freshness to it, which makes it about now, not then… It is also a little like time travel – collaborating with one’s younger self…
